Samsung Galaxy J Active specs confirmed by discovered benchmark

Samsung

We already confirmed the existence of the Samsung Galaxy S4 J Active (GT-I9295/SGH-I537) at the beginning of the week thanks to the Bluetooth Special Interest Group and a UAProf on the Samsung website, but today we have something even more interesting for you guys, because we just discovered the benchmark results of the smartphone and the device isn’t exactly what everyone thought it would be. Earlier rumors indicated that the Galaxy S4 J Active would be identical to the Galaxy S4 that was released last month, but this simply isn’t the case.

While the Galaxy J Active is running Android 4.2.2 with Samsung’s TouchWiz and equipped with a 1920 x 1080p display just like the Galaxy S4, there is one big difference between the two. The Galaxy J Active features a 1.9GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro (MSM8960) from Qualcomm, which is tad slower in comparison with the Snapdragon 600 or Exynos 5 Octa, although the Adreno 320 certainly isn’t lacking on the GPU side. The Samsung SGH-I537 is intended for the American carrier AT&T, while the GT-I9295 will probably be released for the European market.

The Galaxy S4 J Active will be one of the first high-end Samsung devices that is water and dust proof. It seems that these devices are getting more and more popular since the launch of the Sony Xperia Z in February. We expect that Samsung will announce this new Android smartphone in the coming weeks. Furthermore, this isn’t the only interesting device that Samsung is currently working on, earlier today we already showed you that the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 (GT-P5200) is equipped with a Intel Clover Trail+ (x86) processor.

Update: Samsung Galaxy S4 Active will be using the Snapdragon 600 just like the Galaxy S4 and not the Snapdragon S4 Pro.
